I AM

Greetings Earthlings!

I am Beverly Kho living in North side, Manila.
My name means "Woman from the beaver meadow" which explains why I look like this.
I have once lived with Anne Frank back in the 1930's. I am allergic to powder and as a result, I have never felt non-sticky.
I have my own river named 'Emotion'. I have once felt isolated from this world and tried to fit in with the Egyptians.

If anybody has anymore questions beyond art, music, duplication, relevance, obsessions, literature,
heartbreak, disillusionment, love, death, the future, confusion, delusions, homosexuals, sleep machines,
mundanes, eco-friendly and vegetarians, please don't Google my name or ask your "friend who knows about me".
Call me at your Mom's house, I'll be there having a powder party.

Ok, enough about that. As you can see, this blog is filled with Incubus that's because
I AM a big big fan of them. I look up to them and they serve as my inspiration (Sometimes my distraction. Hi Brandon)

Besides BB and Incubus, I enjoy the sights of...
...FASHION
...ART
...MUSIC
...TRAVEL

Oh, and by the way, if your not using Mozilla Firefox, you won't be able to view my posts.

Cheers!

INSPIRATION
"The world is a drought when out of love
Please come back to us
You're all of the above
I'm making a choice to be out of touch
Leave me be he said, he said, he said,
Leave me here in my stark, raving, sick, sad little world!"

"We're both aligned in framed of mind but circumstance has got us good
And now you’re seeing a side of me I wished no one ever would
Yeah, if it's right to pick a fight, we’re fingers in a sugar bowl
Love isn’t perfect, even diamonds start out as coal"

"Should I apologize
If what I say burns your ears and stains your eyes?
Oh, did I crack your shell?
When it falls away, you'll see we exist as well!"

"I suggest we learn to love ourselves before it's made illegal
When will we learn? When will we change?
Just in time to see it all come down..."

"Was it something I said
Something I read and manifested that's getting you down
Don't you dare come to bed with that ambiguous look in your eye
I'd sooner sleep by an open fire and wake up fried"

"There's something about the look in your eyes
Something I noticed when the light was just right
It reminded me twice that I was alive
And it reminded me that you're so worth the fight"

"Could there be a familiar ring every time I sing about.
Cycle the tears everything in life no doubt I, I.
Reiterate till my jaw is offset,
But I'll say it again anyway,
What you give is what you get!"

"I take a look around; it´s evident the scene has changed.
And there are times when I feel improved, improved upon the past.
Then there are times when I can´t seem to understand at all
and yes it seems as though I´m goin nowhere...
really fucking fast, nowhere fast."

"I'm thinking of my soul severity
And I know everything you hate in me
Fill me up with over-pious badgerate
Throw them up; one of my favorite things"

"I hear you on the radio
You permeate my screen, its' unkind but
If I met you in a scissor fight
I'd cut off both your wings on principle alone"

"Hello!? I'm trying to focus
But my eyes deceive me.
Focus. I'm witnessing history...repeating."

"Picture the scene, where whatever you thought,
would, in the blink of an eye, manifest and become illustrated.
You'd be sure man that every line drawn reflected a life that you loved
not an existence that you hated.
So, must we demonstrate that we can't get it straight?
We've painted a picture, now we're drowning in the paint.
Let's figure out what the fuck it's about,
before the picture we painted chews us up and spits us out."

"There'd be no one to answer to
and complicate our lives,
we could be
the epitome of self sufficience."

"It isn't fair to mention, but it awes the crowd
Your fictional, plastic alibi
So take another hit, steal another line
Did you ever meet a leech who was good at goodbyes?"

"In my fantasy, I’m a Pantomime
I'll just move my hands and everyone sees what I mean
Words are too messy, and it’s way past time
To end in my mouth paint my face white and tried
To reinvent the sea, one wave a time
Speak without my voice and see the world by candlelight"

"I saw you standing in my headlights
I thought I’d run you down for the weight you left on me
Instead I punched rewind, reversed and drove away
And seeing you disappear in my rear view
brought to me the word 'reciprocity'"

"You stare at me like I'm a vitamin.
On the surface you hate,
but you know you need me.
I come dressed as any pill you deem fit.
Whatever helps you swallow the truth
all the more easily"

"My secret arsenal
is an infinite, ageless inkwell
it's a fountian of youth
and a patriot's weapon of choice."

"Enough bowing down to disillusion
Hats off and applause to rogues and evolution
The ripple effect is too good not to mention
If you're not affected, you’re not paying attention
It's too good, it's too good, not to have an effect"

"I see you in line, dragging your feet
you have my sympathy.
The day you were born, you were born free.
That is your privilege."

"Mend this careless thread, it's gone askew
(Thread on my sweater is pendulous, step back and pull it
Watch it unravel faster than a speeding bullet)"

"I'm at the end of my report again
For those who won't do apathy
You had the perfect opportunity
But plead the fifth and walked away"

"What if I was just dreaming? What if I lived in a pear?
What if I had a mustard drenched cucumber tied to my leg."

"Disconnect and let me drift until my upside down is right side in
Society must let the artist go to wander off into the nebula"

"Two weeks without my lover,
I'm in this boat alone
Floating down a river named Emotion
Will I make it back to shore or drift into the unknown."

"If this is right, I'd rather be wrong.
If this is sight, I'd rather be blind."

"Out of line, and indivisible
A crow left of the murder
Every piece contains a map of it all"

"You came, you saw, you conquered...everyone
And I'm left here guessing
Oh what went wrong"

"Kiss the sand goodbye because
the tide is coming up and in
yeah, water, water, water everywhere
and every chance to sink!"

"High fives to a better judgment
By saying less today, I will gain more
Low twos to you my fickle friend
Who brought the art of silent war"

"Some people fall in love and touch the sky
Some people fall in love and find quicksand
I hover somewhere in between
I swear…
I can’t make up my mind."

"Wake up everyone
How can you sleep at a time like this
Unless the dreamer is the real you
Listen to your voice
The one that tells you to taste past the tip of your tongue
Leap and the net will appear."

"I dream
that someday we'll be able to look back
on this together and say
It was for the best and that it
made us stronger today."

"All of my life
Where have you been
I wonder if I'll ever see you again
And if that day comes
I know we could win
I wonder if I'll ever see you again."

"He said Hey Sister.
It’s really really nice to meet ya.
I just met this 5 foot 7 guy who’s just my type.
I like the way he’s speaking his confidence is peaking.
Don’t like his baggy jeans but Imma like what’s underneath it.
And no I aint been to MIA
I heard that Cali never rains and New York heart awaits.
First let’s see the west end.
I’ll show you to my bridrens.
I’m likin' this American Boy. American Boy."

"You better think fast, think fast
'Cause you never know what's coming round the bend.
You better not blink, or breathe.
For consequence is a bigger word than you think."

"Put down your hollow tips
And kiss your lover's lips
And know that fate is what you make of it."

"'Cause' what I want
and what I need
is and will always be free."

I start my day thinking about what I've thrown away...

Bada bing with a pipe!

From now on, I shall make titles irrelevant to my post. Haha.

Feb 7

Mom's 40-something birthday!
We celebrated it at Sophie's Garden right across our house. It was 80's inspired. Hello, no one showed up with any sign of 80's in their outfits. :|
I think it was just me who was the closest.

I have no pictures with the birthday celebrant actually IN it. I'll add pictures when I get it from my Mom's cam.

Feb 8

Happy 11th incu-monthsary to B! Pssh.
Haha. Wow. I can't believe its been almost one year!

Here's a recent interview of the newly stached Brandon.
You still look good in my eyes, B...
...even with that hideous stache. :)

Feb 9

Happy 11th Incu-monthsary!
One more month and it's March 9 again!

Here's a picture of Me and Mara before the show.
Reminisce...

Mara and I @ the Incubus concert
March 9, 2008
Araneta Coliseum

Now take a closer look and you'll see mini Brandon Boyds in my eyes.
Hahahaha! A sign of excitement mixed with anxiety mixed with nervousness mixed with LOVE.
...ok, maybe there aren't any.

Prom, Status Yardsale, and Dad's birthday (Today) to follow...
HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAD!

Ciao!

I start my day thinking about what I've thrown away...

House arrest

After 3 days of being stuck at home, I feel like im in a house arrest. I have spent more time staring at my purple walls than exploring the outside world.
Here's what I've learned / realized / found out as a result of my 3 day suffer:

1. It is a lot harder to live in a big house.

2. I wanna be like Kaki King.

3. I think its time to shove off some pounds AGAIN.

4. Ana and I have been hanging out less these past few days.

5. My sister just rejected me on Facebook. Secrets much?

6. Seeing Ruth's photos on his brother's Facebook account made me miss her sooo much.

7. It's official, I failed La Salle. Animo!

8. A family friend of ours failed La Salle but is currently studying there right now because of my dad. :|

9. Seeing a replay of Project Runway Ph and seeing Mara Reyes made me think that I cant believe she actually went inside my room. Haha!

10. I need to reunite with my old folks.

11. 59 is a badluck number for the Chinese people. My dad turns 60 instead of 59 tomorrow. Now that sucks.

12. March 9 is a few days away. I can't believe it has been one year already! I miss you, Incubus.

13. My sister's current squeeze has this itsy bitsy tiny resemblance to our driver.

14. I checked my Facebook about a hundred times this day.

15. I lied to a friend :(

16. I manage to create a birthday post for Brandon Boyd but didn't make one for my mother. Woops. One birthday post to come!

17. I pretty much did 3 things over and over this day.

18. I fantasize about being a vocalist almost everyday.

19. I need to design my room quick before my DAD designs it. Yikes!

20. I got this idea from Bianca Gonzales's blog. Credits to you my friend.

I can go on and on but it might take me to number 1737438493958792348793.
Hahaha!

I start my day thinking about what I've thrown away...

Happy birthday BB!

Happy birthday Brandon Boyd loove.

Brandon Boyd. Let me introduce you to a man named Brandon Boyd...
Ok, I'm lazy. Haha!
I know gazillion things about Brandon and its so long it might bore you guys.
To make it simple, let's just say, Brandon is the epitome of a PERFECT GUY.

Here's B's latest blog child. It's like his birthday post for his self.

February 11, 2009

I'm turning 33 on Sunday. I think this means I have to go and get a real job now. I think this means I have to change my jeans more than once every two weeks. I assume from here on in that I should fold my clothes after they come out of the dryer. By all rights, I should be married by now and thinking about what to name the kids I haven't conceived as yet. Hmmm. Something Bohemian. Something clever. Something original. But not too obscure so as to make his/ her life hell in middle school. Thoreau? Beretta? Maximilian? Doity? Baron Von... Or maybe a good ol' Yuppie name; Tabitha?

No. I am not quite there yet. These jeans are far too greased and broken in to wash right now. The laundry is warm and welcoming when you wear it straight out of the dryer. And I'm having too much fun not knowing if, when and or how I'll survive in the music industry as it clings to the steep, slick walls of the spiked punch bowl that is the world we live in today.

Incubus is releasing an album in May of 2009; a "best of" type thing. It has forced serious introspection and reassessment for me. I have been listening to out takes, demos, rarities and unreleased tidbits for the better part of a two months now and I can safely say that I am overwhelmed! So much has transpired over the past ten years that I really haven't stopped to look at it with any objectivity until just recently. That is, after all, the most difficult part of being immersed in the creative process; you have a really hard time seeing any of it through anyone's filter but your own.

I am proud of what we have done as a band. That I can say with certitude. I am proud of what I have contributed to this strange sonic and social experiment called 'Incubus'. And I am proud that we have been able to capture the ears and hearts of so many of you...

Onto different topics though! I wanted to thank each and every one of you again for coming out to see 'Ectoplasm'. It was such a pleasure to meet those of you I was able to, and to hear your thoughts on art, culture, music, social philosophy, food, sex and drugs. Among other things. I decided to do a limited run of 250, signed 8.5 x 11 inch lithographs of three of the smaller sketches from 'Ectoplasm'. All are signed and numbered and each has a love spell set upon it by none other than Madame Blavatsky's cleaning lady's illegitimate daughter. When you open your package and the set of three, signed prints hits your eyes you will instantly fall in Like (or Love) and not feel bad about having spent $100 on three, colored pieces of paper. Nice paper with nice images upon it, but paper nonetheless.

FAQ:
"Hey, Brandon! Don't you know we are in a deep recession right now?! You insensitive asshole! You money grubbing, bean hoarding piece of Jackalope dung!"
Signed,
Brandon's left hemisphere of his brain, Esquire.

Hi Brandon's Brain's left hemisphere! Thanks for the great question. You are right. $100 is way too much to send on art right now. Unless that is... you have something against all things awesome. And you don't want your eyes to have orgasms every time they catch the sight of any one of the three pieces in question. Yes, eyes can have orgasms. And yes, you will cream your goggles. Thanks for writing!

"Hey Brandon! I didn't realize that Madame Blavatsky had had a cleaning lady! And that she had a love child, no less. Did she really put a love spell on each one of the prints you are selling on your website? And if my Wife feels threatened by my newfound love for your art, can I have her talk to you? Hey, thanks a lot!"
Signed, Bruce.

Hi Bruce! Gosh, what an amazing question! Yes, she put a love spell on each piece. And yes, have your Wife call me if she feels left out. Thanks!

"Hi Brandon! Long time listener, first time writing. I was wondering how the prints should best be presented once they arrive at my doorstep in the cool, box you packed them in. And I wanted to know if you got the Jello Mold I sent with the bits of my DNA sprinkled on top. Hope you liked it!"
Signed, The creepy girl who has a polaroid collection of her poops.

Hey there, Polaroid Poop Girl! I got the Jello Mold. And enjoyed it's gelatin-ish goodness. If I were you, I'd have them framed by your favorite, local framer. These are archive quality prints and if taken care of, might be worth something one day! Especially of I wrap my car around a telephone pole one dark, Winter night while drunk on power and cough syrup. Ok, bye!

Anyway... thanks for checking in, kids. I love you and I hope you all are staying warm and hopeful in what is proving to be one of the strangest times in the History of the World.

Cheers,
Brandon Boyd

Funny, I dreamt about Brandon on the night of his birthday! Haha.

Someone told me that Brandon was in my garage! In MY garage! I quickly ran and greeted him. I ran back to my room to get the stuff that I've always wanted him to sign. I let him sign almost everything I own. I told him everything I've always wanted to say to him. Then pops Mikey (Einziger) out of nowhere. I let him sign my guitar pic and some random stuff. I felt so accomplished after. I hugged and kissed brandon since I know that its going to be a looong time before I see him again. I took the once in a lifetime opportunity.

Ay...
Dreams dreams dreams.
Can I stop dreaming and let the real thing happen now?!
Haha. I'm sick of dreaming!

I love you forever B!

I start my day thinking about what I've thrown away...

Mara Reyes is the shiiit.

Still haven't posted about our (Me and Ana) meet-up with Mara Reyes. Ok, since I realized that it's not everyday that you'll have your LAST prom. So I wanted to make it special. I was thinking on who will design my gown. I thought, I need someone edgy and unique. Who else? but Mara Reyes! My sister is friends with Mara's sister Tammy. Perfect! I contacted Mara and asked her if she makes prom gowns. Yes she did. It quickly popped in my head that I want her "trademark" as my gown. And that you will have to find out. Hahaha.
Fine, I'll post a picture when I receive it.

Me and Ana met up with her at Serendra to discuss our gowns. She showed me a sketch of what she visualized that I want my gown to be. It was perfect! I loved it. Ana had nothing specific in her mind, she just wants something simple but Mara said she can't make simple happen. Haha.
Ok, she didn't say that but something like that!
She had something that fits Ana's personality. I liked it! and it really does suit Ana's personality.
Ok, can I just say this? while discussing, I can't stop staring at her. She was sooo pretty! Her hair is pretty, her skin is pretty, her clothes are pretty! She's the epitome of pretty! Haha.
Me and Ana wanted a pic with her but we didn't want to look like fan girls! Haha.
There were awkward pauses. And yes, I hated the feeling. There were pretty interesting stuff that she told us as well. One thing that amused me was when she said that she'll be busy this month because Nylon Japan got her for a spread and she needs to go to Japan. All expense paid! How cool is that?

Just a quick info:

Nylon is an American magazine that focuses on pop culture and fashion. Its coverage includes art, beauty, music, design, celebrities, technology and travel.

Talk about glam life!
Oh and because I love you Ana, I won't share your embarrassing story! Haha.

I start my day thinking about what I've thrown away...

L is for Lady GaGa.

And because of Ana and Hen, I decided to check out the song, "Just Dance" by Lady GaGa.
They were singing the song over and over again and I thought of downloading it. First time I listened to it I didn't like it that much. It was ok. But when I saw the music video....WOW. I loved it and it made me love the song as well!
The music video was so good that it made the song sound good!

It was my type of music video! I loooved it. The whole spontaneous vibe in the video was just perfect.
...I hate that I'll see AKON's face in it though. Ugh.

...and because I can hardly understand what she sings, here's some lyrics! Yey!

"Just Dance"
By Lady GaGa

A red one

Convict
Gaga

I've had a little bit too much
All of the people start to rush.
Start to rush babe.
A dizzy twister dance
Can't find my drink or man.
Where are my keys, I lost my phone.
What's go-ing out on the floor?
I love this record baby, but I can't see straight anymore.
Keep it cool what's the name of this club?
I can't remember but it's alright, alright.

[Chorus:]
Just dance. Gonna be okay.
Da-doo-doo-doo
Just dance. Spin that record babe.
Da-doo-doo-doo
Just dance. Gonna be okay.
Duh-duh-duh-duh
Dance. Dance. Dance. Ju-just dance.

Wish I could shut my playboy mouth.
How'd I turn my shirt inside out? Inside out babe.
Control your poison babe
Roses with thorns they say.
And we're all gettin' hosed tonight.
What's go-ing out on the floor?
I love this record baby, but I can't see straight anymore.
Keep it cool what's the name of this club?
I can't remember but it's alright, alright.

[Chorus]

[Colby O'Donis]
When I come through on the dance floor checking out that catalogue.
Can't believe my eyes so many women without a flaw.

And I ain't gonna' give it up, steady tryna pick it up like the car
I'm gonna hit it, I'm gonna beat it up latch until tomorrow yeah.
Shorty i can see that you got so much in the jean
The way you twirling up them hips round and round
There's no reason, I know why you can't leave here with me
In the meantime stand, let me watch you break it down.

[Chorus]

Half Psychotic, Sick hypnotic got my blueprint its symphonic.
Half Psychotic, sick hypnotic got my blueprint electronic.
Half Psychotic, Sick hypnotic got my blueprint its symphonic.
Half Psychotic, sick hypnotic got my blueprint electronic.

Go. Use your muscle coming out work and hustle
I got it, just stay close enough to get it
Go slow. Drive it, clean it like so clean it's been molesto, I got it, and your popped coll'

[Chorus]
